What is Basketball & Beyond Academy?
Basketball & Beyond Academy (BAB) is a data-driven, decision-making-first youth basketball development program in Sammamish, WA, serving the greater Seattle area. Instead of run-and-gun reps, we measure basketball IQ and game-situation decisions, then build an individualized development plan from each player’s own data.
Who founded Basketball & Beyond Academy?
It was founded by Coach Chase Paysinger — a high-school teacher and coach with a master’s degree, 20+ years of coaching experience, and a background in sports psychology (Certified Teacher; Master’s; Behavior Intervention / Special Ed & Sports Psychology).

We are based in Sammamish, WA and serve the greater Seattle area — Sammamish, Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland, Bothell, Issaquah, Seattle, Renton, and Tukwila.
What ages and grades is Basketball & Beyond for?
BAB is a youth basketball development program, roughly grades 4th–8th.
Do you train high-school players?
Basketball & Beyond focuses on youth development. High-school training is handled through our partner, Elite Sports NW (elitesportsnw.com).
How much does Basketball & Beyond cost?
In-Season Development Access is a $128 flat fee that covers 6 months (one-time, not monthly). You can also take a standalone survey for $10 (the IQ & Physical Skill survey or the Shooting survey) and get a coach-reviewed individualized plan. In-person one-on-one and small-group training is available on demand, based on coach availability.
What makes Basketball & Beyond different from other Seattle-area basketball training?
We measure and develop basketball IQ — not just physical skills — and track growth with real numbers. Every player is scored across a Physical Skills Score (/180), a Decision-Making IQ Score (/215), and a Total BAB Player Score (/395), then given an individualized plan built from that data.
What are the three BAB scores?
Every player receives a Physical Skills Score (out of 180, from coach evaluation across five skill areas), a Decision-Making IQ Score (out of 215, from a structured basketball-IQ assessment across five dimensions), and a Total BAB Player Score (out of 395) that combines both.
What is Basketball IQ and how do you measure it?
Basketball IQ is the ability to read a game situation and make the right decision quickly and consistently under pressure — it is pattern recognition, not general knowledge. We measure it with a structured assessment that places players in real game scenarios and scores the decisions they actually make, producing a trackable Decision-Making IQ Score.
How does the assessment and program work?
You choose a plan and enroll, complete a short intake and liability waiver, then take the full Complete Athlete surveys on the site. Coach Chase reviews the results, adjusts the physical skills rating as needed, and approves your report — then you receive your Complete Athlete Player Card and an individualized development plan. Players are re-assessed at baseline, mid-season, and end-of-season to document growth.
Do you offer virtual or online training?
Yes. We offer remote coaching and interactive video assessments through our proprietary platform (SNACK), so athletes can train from anywhere.
What is SNACK?
SNACK is the interactive video platform we use to deliver assessments, basketball-IQ film breakdowns, and game scoring, so training reps are measurable and reviewable.
How do I sign up for Basketball & Beyond?
Choose a plan on the pricing page and enroll. After payment you complete a short intake survey and the full assessment surveys; Coach Chase personally reviews your results and builds a tailored, data-driven development plan before your scores are sent to you.
What is your refund policy?
A completed survey and liability consent are required to secure a spot, and payments are non-refundable. Questions are always welcome by phone, text, or email before you enroll.
